OfflineI love music… to me it sets a mood, or sets a pace… it almost always defines the mood I'm in. I've asked clients what they like… and they usually just trust me (probably a good thing because I dont have a huge selection). I remember reading about a provider who plays jazz… and one who plays opera… oohhh, I can feel the excitement of both. I don't really like "massage music" because it might put even me to sleep~
So… what is your preference, ladies and gents? (Santa Baby doesnt count ~w~)

OfflineWhen I was in massage college I used to ask the Masters what they were playing during class and made note of it. The music was this wonderful array of zen Arabic, Indian and Asian works. Much of the music was gathered while these teachers of healing studed abroad. After a year or so I started to find that while the music was great it offered little variety. It was relaxing but was missing that little "zing and spice". Jazz was always my weakness so one day I mixed in a few favorites to my ipod and I can't tell you what a change it has made. Since then many a client has either told me their favorite artist and in several cases brought me CD's. I now have several playlists specific to an individual as well as a few local artists who graced me with their work after becoming clients…
You are exactly right in stating how music sets the mood Bree, and that mood may be sparked by something different in every individual.
…happy listening

Anything relaxing such as Pantera or Anthrax is fine……….yes, I'm joking.
Bailey if jazz is your weakness, have you put Tina Louise (yes Ginger from Gilligan's Island) on your iPod?
